V-Rooms Sponsors SMU’s MBA Business Plan Competition

March 07, 2013

V-Rooms™, a leading virtual data room provider and one of the sponsors of the annual Southern Methodist University Cox MBA Business Plan Competition, congratulates the creators of MyShopAssist, Todd Earsley and Sean Tremblay. MyShopAssist, this year’s competition winner, is a project management and scheduling software for the aftermarket automotive market. V-Rooms will provide Virtual Data Room services to MyShopAssist should they seek venture capital funding. The MBA Business Plan Competition is organized by the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship at SMU Cox School of Business, with a goal of financially supporting student entrepreneurs. Five teams of finalists competed in this year’s competition.

With the virtual data room which they have won, MyShopAssist will be able to use V-Rooms™ virtual data room, which is a regulatory compliant document sharing service with banking level security, to legally and securely distribute a Private Placement Memorandum for use in fundraising.

“We hope that MyShopAssist will be able to use our virtual data room to find venture capital,” says Catherine Smith. “MyShopAssist could develop into a very successful venture.”

V-Rooms has also expressed interest in providing its virtual data room services to other university-based business plan competitions. Qualified, accredited schools should contact Catherine Smith.

“We are delighted to work with the future of America’s business leaders,” said Dan Bradbary, CEO of V-Rooms™. “We encourage every university to sponsor a student business plan competition.”

“We thank V-Rooms™ for their support of the entrepreneurship program at SMU COX,” said Dr. Simon Mak, faculty advisor and professor of practice in entrepreneurship and associate director of the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship. “Partners like V-Rooms™ are vital to the overall success of this annual competition, which encourages and supports the entrepreneurial drive of our MBA students.”
