V-Rooms announced today that it is certified on the US/UK safe harbor list. Safe Harbor is a designation for U.S. based organizations that have met the standards for adequate protection of personal data as required by the European Union’s Directive on Data Protection.
“Protecting confidential information is our entire business model,” said Dan Bradbary, CEO of V-Rooms, “so, we’re excited to meet — and exceed — the standards set forth by the European Union and the United States for confidentiality and security of personal data.”
V-Rooms is no stranger to data security and confidentiality. V-Rooms provides a platform for online file sharing and collaboration in a secure environment. A Virtual Data Room, V-Rooms’ flagship product, is most commonly used in merger and acquisitions so that lawyers, financial professionals, analysts, buyers, and sellers can examine business documents in order to negotiate the deal. Lately, however, V-Rooms has been finding that its secure document repositories are being used in the litigation preparedness process, bio-tech research, the pre-patent process, boardroom communications, oil and natural gas exploration, large accounting operations, and a whole host of other instances where documents must be shared in a secure, regulation compliant manner with remote users.
“We’re excited about being listed on the Safe Harbor list,” said Karen Perkins, President of V-Rooms. “However, being that inspection and inclusion is based upon the request of the company, we’ve certainly been compliant for a very long time.”
V-Rooms expects to continue to grow its UK client base because of its inclusion on the Safe Harbor list.
V-Rooms provides a cloud-based, customizable virtual data room (VDR) solution that is designed to streamline document management, collaboration, exchange and archiving for financial, legal and corporate professionals. The V-Rooms Sofware-As-A-Service (SAAS) secure document portal facilitates the secure exchange of sensitive information providing compliant and auditable transactions. V-Rooms enables the acceleration of complex, information-intensive processes while reducing the time and expenses associated with data distribution, courier, printing and travel.
